ActiveWin have posted a few photos of the DVD packaging, you can view them here. Sidebar Geek"s Brandon posted an extensive summary of the launch event in New York:
At the event, Microsoft really went all out showcasing the kind of hardware that will make using Windows Vista rock. There were areas set up to highlight key hardware that go hand-in-hand with Windows Vista and I took some shots I"d like to share:
They had devices from Logitech, Buffalo, NVIDIA, ViewSonic, Samsung, iRiver, and of course Microsoft. Those monitors looked pretty nice. However I"ve got my eye on the Wireless Entertainment Desktop 8000! Saw a few Zunes and Xbox 360"s around as well.
Microsoft had a pretty cool gaming area setup to showcase Games for Windows.. you can read the full blog article here.
Also, Microsoft have published v1.2 of the Release Notes for Windows Vista. WGA is not required for this download.
