Visual Studio 2022 for Mac Preview 8 is now live, drives towards a "high-quality GA"

A couple of weeks ago, Microsoft rolled out Visual Studio 2022 version 17.0 Preview 7 for Mac. The highlights of that release included improved Xamarin support, continuation of migration to the native macOS UI, and fixes for crashes. Now, it has released Preview 8 as it ramps up to general availability (GA).

Visual Studio 2022 Preview 8 for Mac is primarily focused on bug fixes and addressing stability concerns. Microsoft has highlighted four critical issues that had been reported by the community and marked them as fixed in this release.

These issues include keyboard shortcuts not working, fuzzy text on external monitors, crashes in the Android Device Manager, and removing of prompts about being "unsupported" when developing .NET MAUI projects. That"s not all, though. You can check out the complete list of fixes here, it also includes resolving a bug where people were unable to connect to the debugger or when the Exception window opens on a secondary monitor rather than the primary one.

Microsoft says that this release serves as a stepping stone in its journey to a "high-quality GA" of Visual Studio 2022 for Mac. It has also emphasized that it wants continued community feedback so it can offer the best possible development experience through the IDE.
