Vivaldi has introduced a full-page Notes Manager, along with other updates in the latest update to its desktop browser available for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
The Notes feature was unique to Vivaldi and allowed users to write down ideas and notes in the browser’s sidebar. With Vivaldi 3.1, the browser has extended the basic note-taking implementation which now includes a full-blown notes editor that includes visual editing with a text formatting toolbar. The Notes Manager helps you take notes and research within the browser without relying on extensions and third-party apps.
The Notes feature already supported Markdown syntax and could automatically attach screenshots and the address of the web page being viewed to a note. Now there’s a WYSIWYG editor, and handy features like the Ctrl + F shortcut to find text inside a particular note, character and word count, and the ability to search through notes. Vivaldi syncs your notes across desktop and Android devices with end-to-end encryption.
The latest version also introduces configurable menus which allow users to move the most frequently used actions to the top of the menu that enables them to customize the browser based on their individual workflows. Vivaldi claims that the new version has significant speed enhancements including faster startup and better handling of tabs.
