Vivaldi now comes with DuckDuckGo Tracker Radar built-in

DuckDuckGo has announced that the power user-oriented web browser, Vivaldi, now comes with its Tracker Radar privacy tool which launched last month as an extension for a variety of web browsers and came included with DuckDuckGo’s apps.

Tracker Radar, as you can probably guess by the name, is always on the lookout for code tracking you around the web. It periodically crawls through a large set of the top websites and looks for resources that are being used in a third-party context, how often they set cookies, how often they access browser APIs, and how likely it is that the APIs will be used to identify the user. By looking at these websites, DuckDuckGo can regularly update its list of known trackers and even identify new tracking techniques more easily.

Commenting on Vivaldi’s implementation of Tracker Radar, the Vivaldi CEO, Jon von Tetzchner, said:

“The united efforts of DuckDuckGo and Vivaldi make it easy for users to finally get what they deserve: a safer internet without tracking.”

To block trackers on individual websites, users should click the shield icon on the left-hand side of the URL bar and press Block Trackers. If you’d prefer to make this the default setting across every website, head to vivaldi://settings/privacy/ and adjust the Blocking Level to Block Trackers. On Android, head to the settings and scroll down to Tracker and Ad Blocking, then choose Block Trackers.

To download the latest version of Vivaldi with DuckDuckGo Tracker Radar, just update your installation or download a fresh copy from the Vivaldi website.
