Vivo has expanded its Y-series by launching two new smartphones in India – the Vivo Y20, and Vivo Y20i. The former is priced at ₹12,990 (~$175), and will be available starting August 28. The latter costs ₹11,490 (~$154), and will be available from September 3. As per the press release, both devices will be on sale via the Vivo India e-store, major e-commerce sites, and retail stores.
As far as the specifications are concerned, both devices are near identical, barring small differences. The Vivo Y20 features 4GB of RAM, while the Y20i comes with 3GB of RAM. Another difference is in the color options. The Y20 comes in Obsidian Black and Dawn White colors, while the Y20i comes in Dawn White and Nebula Blue colors.
Both smartphones flaunt a 6.51-inch IPS display with HD+ (1600x720 pixels) resolution, and 20:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 mobile platform. There’s also 64GB of internal storage on offer. Powering the devices is a 5,000mAh battery, but only the Vivo Y20 supports 18W FlashCharge technology. Vivo claims that the battery offers up to 16 hours of online HD movie streaming, and up to 11 hours of gaming.
Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor that is claimed to unlock the device in 0.22 seconds. On the software front, the dual-SIM devices run Android 10-based FunTouch OS 10.5.
