Although being a relative unknown, Vivo made quite a splash at Mobile World Congress Shanghai 2017 when it debuted a prototype device with a fingerprint reader embedded under the display. While that handset has yet to come to market, the firm has now announced that it will release a new device on September 1.
In terms of specifications, the mid-range Vivo Y69 will offer:
- 5.5-inch 720p display protected by Corning"s Gorilla Glass 3
- 1.5 GHz MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor
- 3GB RAM
- 13MP rear camera with a f/2.2 aperture, 16MP front-facing camera with a f/2.0 aperture
- 32GB internal storage with microSD expansion
- 3,000mAh battery
- Android 7.0
All in all, not too shabby a device and the exterior design is relatively simple but still looks quite elegant. The smartphone will arrive in retail channels in two colors, Champagne Gold and Matte Black, and will be able available to purchase through Flipkart and Amazon for ₹14,990 or around $234 USD. The handset will only be available in India for now, as there were no plans announced to bring it to other regions.
