Want Dropbox for Windows Mobile? You have to vote for it

Dropbox is a free (2GB) cloud based backup and storage service for all those important files that you can"t afford to lose. With Dropbox, you can drag and drop files into a designated folder on your desktop and watch it sync across all computers where your account resides. Not only that, but your files are always accessible via the Dropbox website, and you can recover deleted or modified files for up to thirty days. You can also earn more free space by referring other users to the service.

As reported back in February, Dropbox is hard at work creating an app for both Android and BlackBerry (iPhone is already supported). However, the company has no formal plans too bring their service to the Windows Mobile platform.

WMPoweruser has pointed us to Dropbox"s Votebox--a place where the company asks users to vote on new features. In the Votebox, there"s a category called "Windows mobile support." The current tally is already over 9500, though it surely needs more support than that to grab their attention.

To vote for a Windows Mobile version of Dropbox, follow these steps:

  1. If you don"t already have a Dropbox account, register here (you have to be a member to vote).
  2. Once you have an account, visit https://www.dropbox.com/votebox/8/windows-mobile-support to cast your vote.
  3. You get 6 votes to use. Make them count.
