Microsoft has released its new browser for everyone to play with, and if you want to get a closer look at Spartan, you can check out our gallery here. One of the new features that comes with Spartan is Cortana integration but it can be hard to find a site that currently works with the feature.
The feature that we are referring to is the one where Cortana can extract the relevant information about the site and provide it in a condensed window inside the browser. If you have been trying to figure out why Cortana is not showing up when you visit a restaurant website, you are not alone. We have had trouble finding websites that work with the feature but we have found one that works reliably.
If you visit this site, Cuoco-Seattle, Cortana will pop-up in the URL bar and will start bouncing up and down. If you click on the icon, it will open the window you see at the top of this page.
Seeing that the feature works on only a handful of pages is likely a sign that this is still very early in the implementation phase. If Cortana does not work with the link above, make sure you have given Cortana permission by clicking on the microphone icon in the search bar on your taskbar and following the prompts.
This is still the first release of Spartan which means that the browser will mature as the company pushes towards RTM sometime this summer. And for those of you who want more new features, don"t worry, more is yet to come.
