It was only last month that HTC debuted its heavily leaked U11 handset. While the design is similar to its U Ultra that was announced towards the beginning of the year, the handset offers the unique Edge Sense feature that allows it to differentiate itself from the pack. Now it looks like the handset has been put to the test, in a barrage of different experiments that pushes it to its physical limits.
The U11 has a screen like most phones and can withstand a reasonable amount of abuse. It will likely not be phased by keys or coins in the pocket. The device also does well when subjected to excessive scratching, as the front and back are protected by Gorilla Glass, and the chassis is made from metal.
Where the U11 buckles, is when it comes to the bend test. Since the rear of the device is not a structural element of the phone, the handset is easily bent when pressure is applied to the front or rear of the device. While these tests are somewhat more brutal than what your phone will experience, it is cool to see the effects on a handset when it is pushed to its limits.
