Watch Microsoft's Surface event on demand right here [Update]

The above event starts at 8AM PDT.

Microsoft is widely expected to announce a small version of its Surface tablet today at its New York event, as well as a possible Surface Pro 3 featuring a larger screen than the current 10.1-inch tablet. Luckily for those not in attendance, Microsoft is offering a stream of the event live, seen above.

Neowin"s sources indicate the Surface mini will feature a roughly 8-inch screen and heavily focus on pen input. For the first time in the Surface line, the tablet won"t feature a kickstand, according to our sources, but an optional cover will add similar functionality. Microsoft"s smaller Surface tablet will reportedly be powered by an ARM processor provided by Qualcomm, which is also the company"s exclusive Windows Phone partner.

Recent reports also indicate a larger Surface Pro tablet will be unveiled at the event, possibly with a roughly 12-inch display. If accurate, the new tablet, possibly named the Surface Pro 3, may be offered in a variety of versions featuring different Intel processors.

Despite the likely announcements, it appears Microsoft has been attempting to smoke out the sources of its leaks by providing incorrect information to journalists. One of the possible incorrect reports indicated a smaller Surface tablet actually won"t be unveiled, though that seems to fly in the face of Microsoft"s invitations for today"s event, which promoted a "small gathering." Tech companies are known to drop hints about products in announcement invitations, and calling the event a "small gathering" seems like an obvious nod to a smaller Surface tablet.

Update: The video has been updated from the live stream to an on-demand version of the presentation for repeat viewing.
