Highlights from the #morelumia webcast right here from IFA Berlin

The IFA conference at Berlin is about to get underway with a very special announcement from Microsoft on their reveals. We"ll be updating this post with some of the highlights from the webcast, which will include the Lumia 730 and 735 launches.

The mid-range "selfie" device specifications have leaked already, and are likely to include the following:

  • 4.7-inch 720p display
  • 1GB of RAM
  • Quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor 
  • 8GB of onboard storage (plus microSD slot) 
  • 6-8 megapixel camera with ZEISS optics
  • Lumia "Denim" firmware 

Reveals

  • 500 apps per day added to the Windows Phone store.
  • Cortana heading to Australia, Canada and India as a beta, later in Europe.
  • Lumia Denim name confirmed.
  • "Hey Cortana" launches it without having to press any buttons or live tile.
  • Camera app improvements for speed in taking pictures.
  • 4K 24fps/sec 8.3Mpx video recording.
  • "Action shots" saved from above video recording now possible.
  • Lumia Denim available first on flagships 930/1520 and Lumia Icon, then on all Windows Phone 8.1 Lumias from Q4 2014.
  • Lumia 830 announced "thinnest and lightest yet" 8.4mm thick and 150g.
    - €330 excl taxes and subsidies.
    - 10Mpx rear camera.

  • "Dynamic Flash" feature will ship with Lumia Denim.
  • Project my Screen "Microsoft Screen Sharing for Lumia Phones HD-10" accessory revealed.
    - Bluetooth pairing (with Bluetooth 4.0).
    - NFC enabled.
    - Supports wireless charging.
  • Lumia 730 and 735 "selfie" phones revealed.
    - 735 4G/LTE connectivity at €219, 730 3G enabled at €199.
    - 5Mpx front facing camera.
    - Wide angle selfie pictures and emphasis on quality.

  • Skype calling via Cortana.
  • All new Lumia purchases include free 3 month unlimited worldwide subscription including calls to landlines and mobiles.
  • Microsoft proud to innovate at entry level, "Samsung and Apple can"t say that".
