Weekend PC Game Deals: Winter sales begin as Epic enters the freebie ring

Weekend PC Game Deals is where the hottest gaming deals from all over the internet are gathered into one place, every week, for your consumption. So kick back, relax, and hold on to your wallets.

The Epic Games Store threw its hat into the digital game store market just last week, and the behemoth company has already begun its grand giveaway plans.

The underwater survival indie hit Subnautica is now completely free to claim via the Epic Games Store, and you have two weeks to grab it. The game is playable on both Windows and macOS, and you will need to download the Epic Launcher to both download and play the game.

Once this giveaway comes to an end, Epic will be replacing it with the tough platformer Super Meat Boy for another two weeks.

There"s probably not going to be many new bundles showing up in the coming weeks thanks to winter sales, but for now, GreenManGaming is offering a way to build your own bundle.

From all of the games available on this Mix N Match page, you can choose a total of five titles to take home for just $5. The games you may choose to have in your five-pack include Mount & Blade: Warband, Magicka, Insurgency, Fear 3, and much more.

However, while the promotion will be running until December 31, many games have already gone out of stock so be quick if you see anything that you"re interested in.

On the Humble side of things, don"t forget that the 2018 Jingle Jam, Team17, and Monthly bundles are still ongoing from last week. The Kingslayer Bundle of Fanatical has a few days left on it as well.

Free Events

The amount of games that are available to try out for free this weekend is pretty hefty and all of them come from a spectrum of genres.

Bohemia Interactive"s DayZ is finally out of early access and is celebrating the 1.0 launch with a free weekend on Steam. The Ubisoft open-world driving title The Crew 2 is having another free event too, providing access to the full game until the promotion"s end.

If you"re more of a fighting fan, then you have the choice between Street Fighter V and The King of Fighters XIV depending on your tastes this weekend. And meanwhile on the indie corner, there"s the co-op roguelike RPG Hero Siege, as well as Kabounce, which is a multiplayer pinball sports title.

Big Deals

Steam"s big winter blowout sale isn"t starting until next week, but some stores have already begun their festivities. The Fanatical store is yet again running a 10% discount code, where applying FANATICAL10 on your cart will get you the additional price reduction.

Surprisingly, EA"s Origin store is also running a coupon code, giving you an extra 30% discount at checkout when using the code SAVE30.

DRM-free Goodness

Coming in with a three-week long DRM-free winter sale is the GOG store, offering almost 2000 games at discounted prices. Flash deals also make a return, presenting deeper discounts for just 24 hours.

The store has also added new games to its GOG Connect feature so you can add select Steam games to your DRM-free library. Don"t forget to grab the Full Throttle Remastered freebie either before the promotion comes to an end later today. Here are some highlights:
