Kickstarter has been used in the last couple of months to help fund some noteworthy upcoming games. It"s also being used to generate funding for games that, well, aren"t quite as highly anticipated. Example: Ron Paul: Road to REVOution.
As the title suggests, the game centers on Ron Paul, the US Congressman from Texas and now candidate for President of the United States. A Dallas-based programmer named Daniel Williams is taking it upon himself to create the game, which will be a HTML5-based browser title at first. Williams says he will port the game later to iOS and Android platforms.
The game will feature Rep. Paul as he travels across all 50 states in the US to both gather fund raising money as well as delegates to the Republican Convention. It won"t be all kissing babies and making speeches for the virtual version of Paul. The Kickstarter page says that he will also encounter, "13 Boss Fights representing each branch of the Federal Reserve and a Final Boss."
With eight days to go in the Kickstarter campaign, Ron Paul: Road to REVOLution has already exceeded its $5,000 goal. It"s supposed to be released for web browsers sometime in July. Personally we can"t wait to try the Federal Reserve boss battle; will Ben Bernanke make an appearance?
