Back in August, WhartonBrooks announced its intentions to launch a Windows 10 Mobile phone this fall. The launch has since been delayed, and we still know very little about what the device will be, other than that it will be innovative enough to be the "most disruptive since the advent of the smartphone in 2000."
Today, Cerulean Mobile, which is the brand that the handset will be launched under, took to Twitter to confirm which cellular bands the phone will support.
If you"re not familiar with which carriers use which LTE bands, the device seems like it will be very well suited for AT&T and T-Mobile, which are both GSM networks. T-Mobile uses bands 2, 4, and 12 for 4G LTE, and AT&T uses 2, 4, and 17.
And then there"s the question that everyone is bound to ask: what about Verizon? As usual, that will be sort of tricky. The carrier uses bands 2, 4, and 13, but 13 is really the key. If a phone supports band 13 4G LTE, Verizon is legally obligated to accept it on its network, and since this device will not support that band, it"s still going to be at Verizon"s discretion as to whether to accept it on its network.
Nevertheless, if you"re a Windows phone fan, you"re probably used to this by now. The phone is clearly optimized for AT&T and T-Mobile, which should come as no surprise.
