After being pulled from the Windows Phone Marketplace just over a week ago, WhatsApp is back with a new version and can be downloaded once again.
Windows Phone Whatsapp goodness.
After unsuccessful attempts by WPCentral to contact the WhatsApp developers for the reasoning of the pull, a German website later reported that an Android WhatsApp sniffing tool was able to intercept messages sent using the messaging app over a WiFi connection. WhatsApp later denied this as the cause for the app pull and assured Windows Phone Central that this was not a security related incident.
For whatever reason the app was pulled and set to private, it"s now back though. There"s no changelog on the Marketplace for the updated 2.8.0.0 version, but WPCentral discovered that contacts and location sharing is now possible, even if one of the reviewers suggested it isn"t, so you"ll just have to try it out for yourself.
