WhatsApp is now rolling out an update for its iPhone version that enables the voice calling feature, initially introduced in the Android version of the app.
Last month, WhatsApp introduced the voice calling feature for the users of its Android app and was quick to complete the rollout to all the users globally after starting out slow in select markets. Some iOS users claimed to have enabled the feature on their jailbroken devices during the same time, but there was no official public testing for iPhones.
Now, iPhone users can finally enjoy free voice calls over the internet using the latest WhatsApp update, as promised by the company"s co-founder, Brian Acton. In addition to voice calls, the WhatsApp UI has been tweaked a bit as well. The application also supports the share extension introduced in iOS 8 for easier sharing of images, videos and audio from other apps.
It must be noted that the latest update includes support for voice calls but the feature is still being rolled out and may not appear for everyone immediately.
