Stardock is giving away a year"s membership to its Object Desktop suite through its "Golden Key" giveaway. The collection of apps includes the company"s most popular Windows customization applications, along with some innovative productivity solutions.
It contains apps like Start8 and Start10, the popular programs that could be used to customize the Start Menus in Windows 8 and Windows 10, respectively, to a more classic and familiar look and feel.
Another customization solution is WindowBlinds, which allows you to apply custom skins to the Windows UI. You can change the look of the taskbar, window frames, and more.
DeskScapes lets the user apply animated images and videos as their desktop wallpaper. There are plenty available from WinCustomize, or you can use your own.
And then there are some interesting apps that will help you to increase productivity. One that"s pretty cool is Multiplicity, which lets you connect more than one PC together. Users are able to just have one keyboard and mouse for multiple computers, and on top of that, file-sharing is made simple, and you can even copy and paste across them.
Another is called SpaceMonger, and that scans your PC, network, and cloud storage for areas where you can clear up some space. This is something that can certainly be useful for anyone that works with a lot of files, and maybe doesn"t dispose of them when they"re done.
Fences organizes your desktop shortcuts into shaded areas on your desktop. You can set rules for which file types show up in which fences, and it"s completely customizable.
But that"s not all. Object Desktop also includes ModernMix, ShadowFX, Launch, Decor8, IconPackager, WindowFX, Tiles, and Theme Manager. You can check out the full suite here.
