WinContig 4.0

WinContig is an easy-to-use stand-alone defragmentation tool that doesn"t create any installation directories or Registry entries on your computer. Its purpose is to quick defrag files without the need to defrag the whole disk. In addition, WinContig allows you to group files into profiles, and also it accepts a number of optional command-line switches that you can use to control how the program operates. Freeware for personal and commercial use.

WinContig is a standalone executable, and it doesn"t require any installation process or additional DLLs. In order to start using it, just extract the contents of the ZIP archive to any folder you like, and run it.

WinContig is not a GUI for Sysinternals Contig, nor Contig is embedded within WinContig.

WinContig 4.0 changelog:

  • Improved support for Windows 11.

  • Added the ability to analyze and/or defragment files and folders from the context menu of File Explorer.

  • Added the ability to set the prioritization of the defragmentation engine (performance versus responsiveness).

  • In the Fragments dialog box, now fragments are also listed by file cluster. This is useful if you want to investigate how complex the fragmentation of a file is.

  • [User Requested Feature] Added the ability to copy fragmented files listed in the lower pane to the upper pane.

  • Some parts of the GUI were not correctly displayed in high contrast mode. Fixed.

  • Some minor bugs fixed.
