Today is Patch Tuesday, which means that Microsoft is releasing cumulative updates for Windows. Build 14393.953 was released for PCs and phones running the Anniversary Update, and 10586.839 was offered to PCs that are still on 1511.
Presumably, a cumulative update was also released for machines that are running the original version of Windows 10, 1507; however, we simply have no way of knowing for sure, since Microsoft has once again neglected to update its Windows 10 Update History page, or even post any KB articles. It"s also the reason why we have absolutely no idea what got fixed in any of these updates, even the ones that we know about.
Microsoft"s lack of communication comes a month after the company abruptly canceled last month"s Patch Tuesday, which it didn"t even tell anyone about until - you guessed it - last month"s Patch Tuesday. Two days later, it confirmed that rather than delaying updates by a few days, it would be a full month.
The updates for the Anniversary Update include KB4013429 and KB4013418, along with Flash update KB4014329. Machines with version 1511 got the Flash update, along with KB4013198. While we linked to the KB articles, most of them don"t exist yet, and the single one that does doesn"t provide any information about it.
Recently, Microsoft announced some changes to how updates will be delivered with the Creators Update, promising to give users more control over when they"re installed. In doing so, the company also said that it would commit to better communication about updates, but it looks like that policy hasn"t gone into effect quite yet.
Update: All of the changelogs are now available, and 10240.17319 is confirmed.
