Windows 10 Education edition users can now sign up for the Insider Program

Microsoft introduced Windows 10 Insider Preview build 14267 for PCs today to the Fast ring. Along with a laundry list of new features and a few fixes and a single known issue, Gabe Aul also noted a couple changes to the Insider Program itself.

Two of the three are changes we had heard about before, the addition of the Release Preview ring and that the criteria for the Fast ring has been changed so builds are released more frequently. The third change is that students and teachers that are using Windows 10 Education edition can now sign up for the Windows 10 Insider Program as well.

Windows 10 Education edition is a version of Windows that"s either available through the firm"s volume licensing program or through Dreamspark.

Here"s what Gabe had to say:

If you’re a student or teacher running the Windows 10 Education edition – you can now go to Settings > Update & security > Advanced options and opt-in your PC to receive Insider Preview builds. By joining the Windows Insider Program and running Windows 10 Education – you can help to shape the future of Windows for education customers. You can be a part of the ongoing process of improving the features and functionality of Windows that has helped us build the best Windows yet. Windows 10 Education is available through Microsoft Volume Licensing. Individual students in schools participating in the DreamSparkprogram or eligible for the Windows student use benefit may also be able to download Windows 10 Education as a benefit of their school’s partnership with Microsoft.
