If you use your Microsoft account to log into your Windows 10 PCs and tablets, there is good news for you: Windows 10 will soon support recovering your account password from the lock screen. Microsoft is currently testing this feature in Insider Preview build 16237 and it is expected to arrive with the Fall Creators Update.
At present, if a user forgets their Microsoft account password and wants to log in, they have to use another device to recover their account. However, in the recent preview release of Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, the software maker has added an "I forgot my password" option to the lock screen. This lets users reset the password just like they would do on the website.
Microsoft has also added an option to reset Windows 10 PIN from the lock screen. Although, to use this feature you have to enter your Microsoft account password and verify your ownership. Previously, it was only possible from the settings app.
Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is expected to arrive in September this year. While minor, many users will definitely appreciate the addition of the aforementioned features.
