Earlier today we reported that Windows 10 Mobile build 10134 was being tested inside of Microsoft and is a strong candidate for public release. Of course that’s a big jump from the current 10080 version that’s publicly available, so we’re very curious to see some of the new features.
Luckily, a Chinese site just posted a video, with English subtitles, that shows off a much more recent build of Windows 10 Mobile, version 10127. It shows some of the additions to Windows 10 Mobile and the ongoing work that Microsoft is doing to get the OS up to par with its desktop counterpart. You can check out our gallery below, or the full video here.
Some of the new features being show off is the new Settings screen that looks almost identical to the one found on the desktop version of the OS. Users will be able to search for settings and toggles and even use the app in landscape mode. Other features being shown off is the new Maps apps that’s available through the Store beta, though it’s not currently accessible on the public 10080 preview. Besides the usual improvements, the app now allows users to print directions or landscapes, or save them offline as PDFs
The Lumia Camera Beta also gets some improvements, as well as the OS overall, which features numerous bug fixes according to the person that filmed. This should bring some hope to many of those that found the previous build almost unusable thanks to the multitude of issues. This also fits well with Gabe Aul’s assertion that the latest build being tested, 10134 is “really good”.
There’s no word on when exactly we can expect a new Windows 10 Mobile, but if all goes according to plan we might see a new version of the OS land in the next few days.
