Today"s Patch Tuesday seems to be a busy one for Microsoft. The company started with a number of cumulative updates for Windows 10 on both PCs and phones, then proceeded to a fix for security vulnerabilities in Windows XP that it had previously refused to patch and has now pushed a new build to the Fast ring for Windows 10 Mobile.
Compared to previous updates, build 15223 for Windows 10 Mobile is relatively small in changes, being just one iteration from build 15222 which was made available late last week. There are only three minor changes in the build, according to Dona Sarkar:
- We fixed an issue where only the first VPN profile was being displayed in the VPN settings page via Settings > Network & wireless > VPN.
- We fixed an issue where a meeting Time Zone was garbled in Chinese or Japanese.
- Based on Insider feedback, we have changed “Phone Update” to “Windows Update” under Settings > Update & security.
There is also one slight quirk for those who use the WeChat popular in China:
In some cases, the WeChat app may crash on launch.
While not as substantive as other builds, it does fix some small issues for those having trouble with VPN profiles or are using Chinese or Japanese as their language.
