Yezz was one of dozens of new hardware partners that Microsoft attracted to its Windows ecosystem last year, with its first Windows Phone 8.1 handsets debuting at Computex 2014. Earlier this year, it launched a third Windows Phone, the Billy 5S LTE - which, like the other two, was named in honor of Microsoft"s Bill Gates, and is sold alongside Yezz"s "Andy" Android range.
But Yezz is now looking to the future, and as Windows Blog Italia reports, Windows 10 Mobile is firmly on the company"s roadmap.
At its official launch in Italy this week, Yezz confirmed that it will upgrade all of its Billy handsets to Windows 10 Mobile. The company said that it is already working on the update, and will begin its rollout this fall, promising that it will be completed before winter"s end.
On top of this, Yezz also said that it is working on new Windows 10 Mobile hardware, which it will reveal in the coming months.
Confirmation that Yezz will upgrade its existing devices will no doubt come as a relief to owners of those handsets. While most hardware brands are expected to update their existing phones to Windows 10 Mobile, some have chosen not to - KAZAM, for example, said last month that its Windows Phone 8.1 devices will not be upgraded.
