Windows 10 Mobile Redstone builds to "open up to more models soon" says Gabe Aul

If you haven"t been put off by the fact that Lumia 550 and 650 users could no longer charge their phones since upgrading to the first Redstone build of Windows 10 Mobile, build 14267 then we have some good news for you.

Gabe Aul announced this morning that Redstone will be opening up for "more models" soon, and while that statement doesn"t immediately suggest that all models already eligible for build 10586.107 will be supported, we have reached out to Gabe for clarification.

@HDmusicfinest This build only targeted for phones that shipped with W10: 550/650/950/950XL. Will open up to more models soon.

Currently, the only devices eligible for this build are the Xiaomi Mi4, Microsoft Lumia 550, 650, 950, and 950 XL. Microsoft has since recommended that Lumia 550 and 650 owners do not install the build due to a serious bug where the phone is not recognized by the PC and cannot charge, there are two recovery options users can try in order to restore their devices.

Redstone is slated to be the next major update to Windows 10, likely coming in two waves, the first wave coming this Summer.
