Microsoft is hosting its TechEd conference in Europe this week and if you missed the keynote where Joe Belfiore showed off the new gesture support for the touchpad, we have you covered. By clicking play on the video above, you can view all of the new gestures in action.
The new gestures will make it easy to work with the new virtual desktops and multiple windows on the desktop. For a quick recap, we have posted the new gestures below:
- Minimize all open windows by swiping down with three fingers
- Re-maximize all windows by swiping up with three fingers
- When windows are already open on the desktop, swipe up with three fingers to launch Task View, to easily view virtual desktops and open apps
- Swipe three fingers left or right to switch between open apps
These new gestures will go a long way to helping power-users get the most out of Windows as the touchpad has been a weak spot with Windows for many years. While there were improvements with the release of Windows 8.1, gesture support with the touchpad has been lacking when compared to OS X.
These features are currently not available in the builds of Windows 10 that have been released but they should arrive later this year.
