If you are building an app for Windows 10, there is a good chance you already have the Windows 10 SDK on your machine and if you are hoping for a faster release cycle of the SDK, there"s good news on the horizon.
Microsoft has announced that they will begin pushing out newer versions of the Windows 10 SDK at a faster rate. Starting this month, the team behind the SDK is going to target pushing out the SDK that corresponds to the OS flights for Windows Insiders Fast ring. As part of this release cycle, a matching version of the Windows 10 Mobile emulator will also be released.
Windows 10 will be released to the public on July 29th which means that for developers who want to have their apps ready for the OS launch date, they need to be using the latest version of the SDK to ensure it works as expected with the new features. Seeing as we are about a month away from the release of the new OS, the SDK should be nearly complete which is why it makes sense that Microsoft will now be shipping new versions, faster.
The post does not say when the new SDK versions will start shipping but the announcement makes it seem as if this process will begin starting with the next release of Windows 10 to Insiders. While Microsoft has not said when the next Windows 10 release will occur, many are expecting a build to be released this week.
