If uncoordinated window and wallpaper colours have you feeling desperate for Windows 8 in 2012, help is at hand - so called ""Auto-Colorization"" is already available for Windows 7 via a small utility.
Dubbed ""Aura"" the 250kb download was written in C# using WPF and Visual Studio 2010 by a user known only as ""Stealth2009"" and uses either the user"s wallpaper or taskbar icons to automatically set the colour of Aero Glass elements.
Aura is a free download and works with Windows 7 and Windows Vista with Microsoft"s .NET Framework 3.5 or higher installed. An example of how the utility works is below.
Neowin reported earlier today that Microsoft plans to allow the next version of Windows to automatically configure the colour of UI elements like the Start Menu, Windows Explorer windows and the taskbar based on the desktop wallpaper.
