Windows 8 "Enterprise N" RTM has leaked

Just a day after Microsoft announced that the RTM build of Windows 8 had been completed, a copy of one of the many Windows 8 SKUs has found its way to a number of pirate torrent sites. We have confirmed that this build of Windows 8 that is currently available on these pirate sites is of the Windows 8 Enterprise "N" SKU. "N" editions are released in Europe and don"t contain Media Player.

Additionally, Microsoft decided a few months ago to remove the ability for Media Player to run DVD movies in Windows 8, unless people downloaded the optional Media Center add-on package.

As with any leak, downloading and installing any pirated software to your machine has many risks, so proceed with caution.

We have contacted Microsoft for comment but their spokesperson told us that the company has "nothing to share at this time".

As a reminder, you can get Windows 8 starting on October 26th either by upgrading for $39.99 or with the purchase of a new PC. If  you buy an eligible Windows 7 PC today, you will be able to purchase an upgrade to Windows 8 Pro for $14.99 (U.S.) through the Windows Upgrade Offer.
