Dell is pretty much going all out for the Windows 8 launch, if their lineup of new PCs, tablets. notebooks and hybrids are any indication. We got to briefly go hands-on with several of Dell"s Windows 8 products at a press event in New York City earlier today.
The device from Dell that impressed us the most was the XPS 12 hybrid, shown above. The product looks like it will feel right at home as a notebook for the home office or for school but its unique hinge design allows the screen to flip 180 degrees and then lay flat, turning the notebook into a really big Windows 8 tablet.
Dell"s XPS All In One PCs were mighty impressive looking as well, with a huge 27 inch screen that looked crisp and sharp to the eye. We also got a chance to check out the small XPS 10 tablet, which is one of the few tablets launching this year that is using Windows RT. The Dell reps we talked to today said this product, with its Office RT software included, should be a big hit among people who want to be more productive with their tablets.
Speaking of productivity, Dell also showed off their business-themed Windows 8 products, including the Latitude 10 tablet. Dell says while these products can be bought by anyone, they are being made with businesses in mind and include some extra security measures made especially for the enterprise market.
And what about Alienware, Dell"s PC gaming division? When we asked, all the Dell rep said to us was, "Stay tuned." We would not be surprised to hear about a cool Windows 8 gaming laptop or hybrid coming from the Alienware crew in the near future (CES 2013, anyone)?
Delll certainly showed off the most Windows 8 products to us today and we think they have lots of stuff in the works we don"t even know about.
