The Windows 8 Release Preview version is still set to be launched by Microsoft sometime in the first week of June. This weekend, new screenshots from a leaked build of the OS found their way to the Internet. The shots, from the Winunleaked.tk forums, show an example of how Windows 8 will install language packs.
The screenshots show an Enterprise English language version of the Windows 8 Release Preview installing an Russian language pack. In a previous post on the official Windows 8 blog, Microsoft said that it would add 14 new display languages (one new stand alone language and 13 Language Interface Packs) to Windows 8, in addition to including the 95 display languages that were a part of Windows 7. UK English will now be a stand alone display language in Windows 8, separate from US English.
Microsoft has yet to announce a specific day and time for the Windows 8 Release Preview launch, although some Internet reports claim via unnamed sources that the launch could happen as soon as this Friday, June 1st. Other products such as Windows Server 8, Visual Studio 11 and other Microsoft software products could also have their release candidate builds released to the public at the same time.
