Windows 8 touch gestures added to Microsoft Touch Mouse

People who own Microsoft"s original Touch Mouse can now download a new update that will enable them to use the touch gesture support for Windows 8. The update comes in the form of the company"s Mouse and Keyboard Center 2.0 software, which replaces Microsoft"s previous IntelliPoint and IntelliType softwae.

The download, which is now available via Microsoft"s Support website, comes in a variety of languages, each with both 32-bt and 64-bit support for Windows 7 and Windows 8. People who own the Microsoft Touch Mouse will now be able to access the many specific gesture controls in Windows 8 with this new update via the software"s settings.

The new software also supports a number of other Microsoft-made PC mice and keyboards. That includes the recently launched Microsoft Wedge Mouse. Unfortunately, this new Mouse and Keyboard Center 2.0 update does not enable the specific gesture command made for Windows 8 for that product and there"s no word on when, or even if, Microsoft will add such support to the new Wedge Mouse.

Logitech has already announced plans to release a number of new PC mice and keyboards that will support the gesture controls in Windows 8.
