Windows Admin Center version 2103 is now available with automatic updates and more

With the second part of its Ignite event kicking off today, Microsoft has announced that the latest version of Windows Admin Center - 2103 - is now generally available. This release coincides with the launch of the public preview of Windows Admin Center in the Azure portal, and it brings a ton of new features to the table.

One of the highlights of this release is that it"s now possible to deploy IoT Edge for Linux on Windows. It also comes with support for automatic in-app updates in Admin Center. This means that not only Admin Center will update itself automatically, but it will also enable automatic updates for extensions.

The latest release also adds support for gateway proxies in the Proxy tab. Privacy settings are also more easily accessible in the Diagnostic & Feedback tab, letting users control what diagnostic data is collected by Microsoft. Microsoft has also made it possible to pop-out different tools into separate windows.

The Events tool has been redesigned, and it"s the first time the event viewer is getting some major changes since 1993. The new layout should make it easier to understand recent events, but it"s still missing some features, so it"s in preview right now. You can enable or disable the preview at will using a toggle on the page itself.

The Virtual Machine tool has also been updated with some improvements to integration services settings, support for editable columns and groupings, and the ability to edit virtual switches when moving a VM, which should prevent moving errors when virtual switches don"t have the same name. Microsoft has also updated the Azure hybrid center with an improved UI.

Finally, there are some updates to the Azure Stack hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI), particularly to cluster deployment. Among the improvements is a new partner snap-in experience that OEMs can enable to make deployment more seamless.

There are also plenty of updates from the partner ecosystem, including version 2.0 of Dell EMC OpenManage, an update to Lenovo XClarity Integrator, and many more.

You can download the latest version of Windows Admin Center to check out the latest features.
