Earlier this week, Microsoft sent out a preview of its "Mango" update of its Windows Phone 7 operating system to developer. Now an upcoming Windows Phone 7 device has had an imaged leaked out to the web. Specifically the German language web site HTCInside.de (translated by Google) has posted up info and an image for the HTC Etenity, a WP7 phone that will support "Mango" out of the box.
Due for release this autumn, the HTC Eternity is going to be a very big phone with a large 4.7 inch touch screen. It will also have features such as an HDMI port and WiFi connections. Sadly the phone only has a single core processor with a speed of 1.5 Ghz. Perhaps the most important feature is that the HTC Eternity has a front facing 1.5 megapixel camera in addition to an 8 megapixel rear camera. This further confirms that the "Mango" update will have support for front and rear cameras and possibly support for video chat (perhaps via Skype).
The Mango update for Windows Phone 7 is scheduled to be released to compatible phones sometime in September and will have a number of new features and improvements including better support for games, better organizations of media files, multitasking and more. Of course everyone is waiting to see what the first Windows Phone 7 phones from Nokia will be like. The Finland company has announced it will move to making phones based on WP7 with the first products expected to be released by the end of the year.
