While there hasn"t been a new wave of WP7 devices since the initial launch batch, HTC is looking to change that with the HTC Mazaa. The device is expected to hit Sprint within the next six months and according to the tipster, may even carry DDR2 memory for an added speed boost.
The pictures come courtesy of XDA developers and show a device made by HTC with the Windows Phone branding on the back. The device appears to have a 3.7 inch display and has the traditional three buttons at the bottom for the Windows Phone platform. There is also no indication which chasis spec this phone falls under.
Besides the little tidbits of information leaked by the tipster, not much else is known at this point. While there has been a bit of a drought on new WP7 devices, including a lack of a device on Verizon, it appears that new hardware is being readied for all the WP7 fans out there.
WP7 has had its fair share of bumps in the road since the platform launch. Microsoft has experienced a few issues while trying to update the devices the first time around and the second update, NoDo, has been nothing less then a slow rollout to end users. But, despite all of these issues, the platform does have potential and is a serious competitor in the marketplace.
