Windows Phone 8 HTC hardware specs reportedly leaked

We know that HTC will be one of at least four smartphone companies that will provide devices for Windows Phone 8 when it is released later this year. Now The Verge reports it has received, via an unnamed source, information on the three HTC smartphones the company plans to release in support of Microsoft"s next mobile operating system.

The low end phone has the code name "Rio" and the article states it will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8227 processor inside. It will also have a four inch WVGA display, a five megapixel camera with 720p video and 512 MB of memory. The mid-range device has the code name "Accord" which could have a dual core MSM8260A processor from Qualcomm (although the article says that could change). "Accord" also is supposed to have a larger 4.3-inch display, an eight megapixel camera with 1080p video, and 1 GB of memory.

Finally, HTC is supposed to release a high-end Windows Phone 8 device with the code name "Zenith". It may have a powerful quad-core Qualcomm processor inside (not named in the article). It is also supposed to have a 4.7-inch display and an eight megapixel camera but no word yet on memory. The article claims the Rio and Accord will be out in October and the Zenith will follow later in the fourth quarter of 2012.
