Windows Phone developer support from Verious announced

Windows Phone-based smartphones are getting more and more support from developers. In April, the number of apps released on the Windows Phone Marketplace exceeded the 80,000 mark. Now those app developers have some new tools and products that could help them make their software products.

Today, Verious (which the company says is a combination of "very serious") has announced and launched a number of SDKs for Windows Phone app developers, along with some open source projects and some pre-built mobile app components. Verious has also launched a new Windows Phone category on their Mobile Developer Network.

Microsoft"s JC Cimetiere, the Director for Developer & Partner programs, Windows Phone Division, said in a statement:

The boom in Windows Phone app development is generating a growing number of companies providing components, tools, and mobile-ready services for Windows Phone developers to discover and implement. Microsoft is pleased that Verious is bringing these valuable assets together to help enterprises and independent software developers alike dramatically accelerate their mobile app development.

The tools that are being released by Verious include the Syncfusion Metro Studio 1, a large collection of icons created in the Metro style. The company is releasing this icon pack, which is normally worth $499, for free to Windows Phone developers.
