Microsoft and Google are sometimes bitter rivals. On Thursday, Microsoft even posted up word on its Windows Live blog site on how to transfer a Gmail account over to Microsoft"s Hotmail service. However, Google sometimes comes through for users of Microsoft-based platforms.
On Thursday, Google announced via a Google+ post that it had given users of Windows Phone 7.5-based smartphones some added Google Sync features . One of them is the ability to pick which of a user"s Google Calendars can be synced to your Windows Phone device. As Google"s Li Yin writes:
Just navigate to m.google.com/sync on your phone’s browser and configure the calendars you would like to see. From that page, you can also configure which addresses you send mail as if you have custom addresses in Gmail.
Windows Phone owners can now sync up to 25 Google Calendars with the Calendar app thanks to this new feature update. In addition, Windows Phone users can now use the search feature to look for Gmail messages that have yet to be downloaded to the phone itself. That added feature should be quite helpful for heavy Gmail users.
