Microsoft is keeping busy by releasing the last major previews and updates for the year, with the Xbox One receiving its update at the start of the month, followed by a new preview version of Windows 10 last night.
Obviously this wouldn’t be a party without Windows Phone, and we finally have hard evidence of a new, upcoming, preview version for the mobile OS, one likely to be released in the near future.
The update will bring Windows Phone to version 14203, which is a step up from the current 14192 that previewers are now using. This might be the long-rumoured GDR2/ Update 2 that was supposed to launch around this timeframe.
Update 2 was rumoured to bring a few improvements to Windows Phone not the least of which was a new, alphabetically sorted Settings menu that would clear up the current mess.
And while we’re not sure what features might be coming with build 14203 we do at least know a couple of them: a real-time live tile for Battery Saver, alongside the option to add Battery Saver to the quick launch button in the Notification Center.
And how do we know all of this? Simple. Because Microsoft updated the Battery Saver app yesterday and these changes, and build 14203 were mentioned in the changelog. And this also points towards a launch in the near future so we’ll keep an eye out for new builds.
