At its Build 2019 developer conference this year, Microsoft announced Windows Terminal. Offering a tabbed experience in the console and promising an all-in-one experience that combines things like the Command Line, PowerShell, and WSL, it"s been in preview ever since.
Of course, you"ve had to compile it yourself. The project is open source, and it"s available on GitHub. Now though, it"s available in the Microsoft Store; well, kind of.
Spotted by Twitter user Stanzilla, the title of the app store listing is Windows Terminal (Preview), and it"s very early on. In fact, it doesn"t even work. You can install the app, but it just shows a welcome page for DiCE Package Management Platform.
Based on the Store listing, the app will work on Windows 10 build 15063 or higher, meaning it goes as far back as version 1703. It says it"s available for HoloLens, PC, phones, and Hub, and while it doesn"t say Xbox One, it does say it in the system requirements section, so there might be an error there.
Naturally, the app will be updated as more work gets done. If you want to download it, you can find it here.
Update: Microsoft has updated the app and it works now.
