Saw this over on our good olde buddy Paul"s site and I thought I"d post it just in case it has not been covered yet.
Sources close to Microsoft tell me that the company will unlock a wide range of product updates, new drivers, and other revisions Monday, on the day that the first PC makers will ship XP-based PCs to customers.
Monday"s product updates are will include enhancements to Windows Messenger, Windows Movie Maker, and other XP applications, as well as a large set of driver updates and similar system upgrades, including Microsoft"s final USB 2.0 drivers. Sources told me that the expected color and holiday-based UI schemes are not going to be included, however. The updates arrive on the day that the first Windows XP-based systems ship from a variety of PC makers, including Dell, HP, Compaq, and Gateway.
