Wolfenstein: Youngblood launches July 26, Deluxe Edition lets friends join in for free

The next entry in the Wolfenstein franchise that was announced by Bethesda last year during E3, Youngblood, finally has a release date attached to it, with the company announcing today that the rebooted series" first cooperative game will be available on July 26.

Co-developed by MachineGames and Arkane Studios, the two-player shooter has players taking the roles of B.J. Blazkowicz" twin daughters Jess and Soph in their mission to find their missing father in Nazi-occupied Paris. The game takes place 19 years after the events of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, setting players in the 1980s of this alternate reality.

Beyond that, Bethesda today announced a special bonus that will arrive with the Deluxe Edition of the game. Instead of a season pass. the Deluxe Edition will arrive with a Buddy Pass, an open invitation that will let those who don"t own the game jump in with Deluxe owners as a coop partner for free. Buddy Pass users can go through the entire game using this, but if they want to continue on their own, they will need to purchase the game.

This may be something that will be familiar to those who picked up the cooperative title A Way Out from last year, which let the second player join in for free in a similar fashion.

Beyond that, a Cyborg Skin cosmetic pack is also included in the Deluxe Edition, which brings special titanium alloy skins for the sisters" "Power Suits, guns, combat knives and hatchets."

Wolfenstein: Youngblood Standard Edition comes in at $29.99, while opting for the Buddy Pass equipped Deluxe version will cost $39.99. The game is headed for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. As Bethesda recently confirmed, the PC version will be available on both Steam and the Bethesda launcher.
