WPA Beaten: WinXP Eval cracked to Corp Edition

THE HACKERS AND THE CRACKERS have been fiddling around with the evaluation copy of XP and have managed to make it into the Corporate Edition.

The only difference between the eval edition - which costs virtual peanuts -- and the Corporate Edition is that the latter needs a serial number on it.

The changes, which we have seen, are not particularly complicated and, the Warez-folk claim, will turn the eval edition into one needing no product activation and no timebomb.

The CD is also bootable. The person who posted the information IRC said he or she is working on a version that won"t need the serial number, as reported here earlier.

The instructions said: "Now all you have to do is burn this puppy using your favorite burning util and you are set.

"I used FireBurner and it worked like a charm.

"Please look forward to a future release that will add the serial number automatically... I am trying to work on this..."
