Worst Launch of 2003
Shadowbane – Although they technically got their release issues ironed out after the first few days, the happy days of problem-free Shadowbane were numbered low enough to count without getting naked or shoeless. From first day registration issues, to the dreaded sb.exe errors that dropped half of any large group instantly upon meeting any other large group, all of the glorious s$%t sundae was topped off by continual login server problems that prevented many from logging in at all, including those who"d just been unceremoniously dropped to the desktop while defending their city from eventual destruction at the hands of the lucky few who could stay connected. No other game held so much promise for the genre, and f"d it up quite so gloriously.
Runner-Up: Horizons. My fing God, if your web server can"t complete the registration process enough to allow someone to fng login, you sure as %$^ shouldn"t be charging their credit card once, much less once for every time they attempted to make it through the registration. Car fire, death, move on.
