Lots of first- and third-party title are coming to the Nintendo Switch, including Splatoon 2, Neo Turf Masters, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, Rocket League, and Just Dance 2018. However, feature parity is still a concern for gamers on the console, particularly after the announcement of FIFA 18 for the Nintendo Switch, which is an obviously inferior version of the title.
Whether this is due to the alleged difficulty in developing for the console remains to be seen, but Switch owners will be happy to know that WWE 2K18 has been confirmed for the hybrid console, promising complete feature parity with the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.
The announcement was made by WWE 2K18"s cover athlete, Seth Rollins. As Polygon notes, this will be first major entry in the series for any Nintendo console in the past ten years, following 2007"s WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2008. It will also be the first WWE title on all Nintendo consoles in the past six years, after the release of the spin-off title, WWE All-Stars in 2011.
While the trailer didn"t give away any gameplay footage or answer any questions related to the game"s resolution on the Switch, Rollins did emphasize the on-the-go capabilities of the hybrid console. You can check out the announcement trailer below:
A press release from WWE also noted that WWE 2K18 on the Nintendo Switch contains all the features offered by its competing counterparts. This includes the full roster, new grapple carry systems, a more detailed MyCareer experience, a new Create Match option, the brand-new Road to Glory multiplayer mode, and a more extensive backstage area. Additionally, gamers who order the title on the Nintendo Switch will be offered the same pre-order bonus as those being offered to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners, which is the WWE superstar Kurt Angle.
WWE 2K18 arrives on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and the PlayStation 4 on October 17, 2017.
