The Xbox 360 Elite is set to launch in Japan on October 11, after a late April launch in the U.S. and an early May one in Canada. Although Japanese gamers have to wait Xbox 360 Elite much longer for the upgraded console to arrive, they will be getting a considerable break on the price over their North American counterparts. The Xbox 360 Elite is set to retail in Japan for 47,800 yen, or about $389. In the U.S., the Xbox 360 Elite retails for $479. It remains to be seen whether or not the improved features or relatively better value price of the Xbox 360 Elite will be enough to entice Japanese gamers to Microsoft"s console – which so far is ineffective in that country. Sales of Xbox 360 in Japan appear to be boosted by only the release of Japanese-made RPGs.
