Xbox fans are touting the success of Microsoft"s latest console after it outsold the PS2 last month, five months after the release of the console. Despite the PS2 now being five years old in the USA this is a big win for Microsoft, who have always been behind the competition in terms of hardware sales. The 360 sold 295,000 units compared to the PS2, which sold 205,000 units.
Part of the problem with the 360 is the continual shortage which has plagued the console since its launch, but it seems as if this problem is going away as production is stepped up. Software sales for the console were also up, with a ratio of 4.5 games per console. Half of the games in the Top 10 chart were also 360 games.
