Xbox app updated on Windows 10 devices with light theme support

While dark themes were all the rage in 2016, this year, Microsoft is adding some light themes. We know that the feature will be added to the Xbox One family of consoles in the Fall Creators Update, so unsurprisingly, the Xbox app for Windows 10 devices is getting the same treatment.

The feature is supported by both PCs and phones, and you can access it through the settings section of the app. You"ll be able to choose light, dark, or to match the system settings. Unfortunately, the Android and iOS versions of the app haven"t picked up the feature just yet.

While the Windows Store listing only shows "bug fixes" as what"s new in this version, Windows Central seems to have picked up a changelog:

  • New for party chat: Control your party"s chat volume, and choose a specific audio device.

  • Get the bird"s-eye view: Brackets have been added for Killer Instinct Tournaments.

  • We now take you live! Watch game broadcasts in clubs.

  • Co-stream with friends: Once you get an invite, just accept to go to Mixer.com and co-stream.

The version number of the updated application is 31.32.11001.00000, and you can grab the update here.
