Xbox Dashboard update and video leaked

The upcoming update to the Xbox 360"s Dashboard has been leaked, along with a video that shows off some of the features of the new user interface for Microsoft"s game console. The file itself appears to come from an Xbox Developer Kit which Xbox 360 game creators use to help develop their retail game titles. Some select media outlets also have Xbox Developer Kits provided by to preview upcoming titles.

The YouTube video shows how the next Xbox Dashboard will look and operate. While incomplete, it shows off features such as an app marketplace for downloading things like Facebook support, cloud-based storage options and the much hyped Xbox Live TV feature. Microsoft has already announced it will begin a beta test for the next Xbox Dashboard later this month with the final version planned to be made available for all Xbox 360 owners later this fall. One rumor claims that the exact date for the the update will be November 15.

As you can see in the video below, the next version of the Xbox Dashboard will have a tile-themed UI that looks similar to Microsoft"s Windows Phone 7 and the upcoming Windows 8 operating system. Microsoft"s Kinect motion controller camera will allow users to navigate though the new user interface via voice recognition or by simply moving your hand. It will also add a new Bing-based search feature that will enable users to look up anything available for the Xbox 360 via the controller or with Kinect via the voice feature.
