Microsoft recently opened pre-orders for its Xbox One in China, and in much the same way as in China, the company has faced some state opposition towards its products in Russia. Nonetheless, it will be hoping for success there with its next hardware launch, as it has confirmed plans to roll out its next-generation console there.
As WPCentral reports, Microsoft has announced that the Xbox One will launch in Russia on September 26, part of a massive international expansion of availability of the console. The Xbox One will become available in 27 new markets throughout that month, including a launch in India on September 23, and a full rollout in China on the same day.
Curiously, back in June, Microsoft stated that it planned to release the Xbox One in Russia on September 5; its latest update indicates that the launch date has now been pushed back to September 26 instead.
Microsoft has not yet announced pricing for the device in Russia. It recently confirmed that it has "no plans" to reduce the price of the Xbox One in existing markets.
